- ONSchool will be a great local school, serving the South of Oxford City, with a powered up education mix of academic subjects and 21st century skills, in a hi-tech learning space.
- ONSchool will be small, with a maximum capacity of 360 children, when full, in 2018.
- ONSchool will be a mixed, comprehensive, free and all-ability.
- ONSchool is planned to open in September 2013, to children in the first three years of Seconday school: ages 11-14 - known as Key Stage 3.
- ONSchool will be governed as a cooperative, transparent and democratic, in partnership with the Local Authority and local schools.
By focusing on a smaller group of children, who are not immediately faced with exams, we can give full attention to helping them find their strengths and take them through towards their qualifications, while shaping and evolving the school around the needs of the community. The school will grow with these cohorts, through to KS4 and KS5.
ONSchool will place Innovation at the core of what we do - where Innovation means substantial positive change:
- Substantial Positive Change in Expectations - believing that each child is exceptional and gifted
- Substantial Positive Change in Aspirations - aiming higher and broader
- Substantial Positive Change in Values - Social Justice and Individual Responsibility
- Substantial Positive Change in Community Participation - Intergenerational learning
- Substantial Positive Change in Health and Wellbeing - for a happier and healthier future
- Substantial Positive Change in Teaching and Learning - rigorous focus on what works best
- Substantial Positive Change in Teacher Professional Development - investing in our staff
